Dermal Filler Injectables Gold Coast & Brisbane
Dermal fillers help you to restore depleted volume and restore the natural curves of the face.
As we age, our skin loses its elasticity and thickness and the underlying structures in our face begin to break down and diminish. We lose healthy fat deposits which create fullness and curves and our faces begin to thin out.
This flattening of the face profile is completely natural and is typically first noticed in our lower face, cheeks and jawline. Over time this translates into more prominent nasolabial folds, downturning of the mouth edges, fine lines around the mouth and chin, and hollowing in our medial face. You may also notice lost volume underneath your eyes or around your neck and jawline which may cause a hollowing effect of the entire face.
Fortunately, there are many techniques to improve depletion with dermal filler. With strategically placed injections, fillers can replicate lost fat and bone structures to refresh and restore a more radiant appearance which can result in a firmer and more hydrated complexion. Some favourite areas to treat are cheeks, lips, marionette lines, tear troughs and chin.
Dermal filler injections are incredibly versatile and can be used to:
- Volumise the lips
- Plump the cheeks
- Reshape the chin
- Reduce under-eye hollowing
- Redefine the jaw
- Eliminate marionette lines
- Eliminate nasolabial folds
- Reduce temporal hollowing
- Fill fine lines
- Smooth deep creases
- Reduce the appearance of scars
- Reduce peri-oral lines (smoker lines)
What Are Dermal Fillers?
Volumising dermal fillers are natural gel-like substances that are injected into the skin to enhance and contour facial structures, restore volume loss, treat fine lines, promote hydration and improve the radiance of your complexion. This gel consists of stabilised, non-animal hyaluronic acid – a sugar molecule that naturally occurs in the body.
Facial fillers utilise various ingredients and come in different thicknesses and formulations that make them appropriate for different areas of the face.
How Dermal Fillers Work
Revolumising hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal filler is a soft injectable consisting of stabilised, non-animal HA – a sugar molecule that naturally occurs in the body. The function of this HA molecule in the body is to bind water and act as a lubricant and shock absorber. It also works to transport nutrients and regulate the water balance within your skin. By boosting the quantity of this naturally occurring substance, fillers revitalise and add volume to the treated area instantly.
HA dermal filler is scientifically engineered to closely resemble that which exists in the body.
Benefits of Dermal Filler Treatments
- Restore lost facial volume – injectable fillers replace lost facial volume and restore the natural curves of the face that have lessened with age.
- Natural volume restoration – achieve subtle and natural results that mimic your natural facial tissue.
- Accentuate the cheeks – create symmetry and fullness with injectables that aim to create ideal facial contours and curves.
- Redefine facial structure – fillers, when placed appropriately, redefine the jawline or cheekbones which naturally deplete as we age.
- Generally considered low risk and proven – our dermal filler injections are FDA approved and we use only high-quality, reputable brands.
- Results are immediate – results of facial fillers are noticeable immediately after your treatment. However, please wait up to 6 weeks before judging your final result, as the filler takes time to soften and settle.

Your Treatment
The entire process of consultation to completion takes, on average, 60 minutes.
Before beginning treatment, your nurse at Gold Coast Plastic Surgery will consult you based on your goals and outcomes for your dermal filler treatment. Your nurse will provide advice on how best to treat your concern and will assess your facial structure to determine the best injectable techniques. Then, you will undergo a consultation which will provide instruction on whether to proceed based on numerous factors including risk.
All the available products will be explained to you in detail so you and your nurse can decide which product will help you achieve the best possible results. Please note that due to TGA guidelines, we are unable to advertise the brand names of dermal filler on our website. However, we stock the leading brands of all injectable fillers and are able to discuss these freely during your consultation.
During your injectable treatment, your nurse will strategically inject the dermal filler product into your treatment area to achieve balanced, symmetrical and natural results. You will be provided with aftercare instructions to follow for the next 48 hours and can ask any questions at any time during your appointment.
