Smoking and surgery

Cigarette smoking can be highly toxic during and after the procedure. If you are a smoker, you must quit smoking at least three months before the surgery, and continue to abstain during the recovery period. Nicotine present in smoke causes blood vessels in your body to shrink, compromises the function of your red blood cells, and lowers oxygen levels in the blood and consequently oxygen delivery to various body parts; thus delaying the wound healing process. Types of Breast Implants

breast implant shapes round vs teardrop

There are two types of implants:

Teardrop implants

These implants come in various sizes and give your breasts a more natural look with less fullness above the nipple and a more natural feel.

Dr Doyle will take you through these options and the different sizes and shapes of the implants according to your requirements during your appointment. You will get to try different sizes of implants by using a specialized bra. Crisalix 3D imaging technology will help you envision your possible results following the surgery.

Round implants

These silicone implants give more projection above the nipple and give a fuller looking breast.

Round Vs Teardrop Implants

When it comes to getting breast implants, it is important to know that there are pros and cons for both the round and teardrop implants. Both of these breast shapes can give a natural-looking result. They are available in a wide variety of sizes and shapes, making them an excellent choice for women wanting larger breasts. The main factor that should determine which type of implant you will choose is the shape. You should also take into account the shape of your natural breasts, so that you can choose a breast implant that feels as natural as possible.

Both round and teardrop implants are great options for women who have little or no natural breast tissue. They are also good for anyone wanting to have larger breasts. Both these shapes can create a natural-looking appearance, but a teardrop implants can appear the most natural. While both are good options, you should be aware that breast implants cannot lift the breast. Therefore, it is important to speak with your surgeon and ask about all of your options before choosing which one to get.

If you’re concerned about your results looking unnatural, the teardrop implant is a great choice for you. Teardrop implants closely resembles a natural breast shape, which makes it appear more natural. A round implant is best suited for women with less natural breast tissue, such as those with tuberous breasts. This is because a round implant gives a more ‘full’ and symmetrical breast. If you’d like a more natural-looking result, teardrop implants are excellent choice.

Risks and Complications

Though the mini boob job is a safe surgery it is not risk-free. Like all surgical procedures, it is associated with potential risks and complications. Dr will give you the care instruction to avoid complications.

The surgery carries some risk of infection, severe bruising, swelling, or complications related to anesthesia, excess fluid collection. You may experience changes in sensation around your breast and nipple. Though the incidences are reduced compared to traditional breast implant surgery, the possibility of implant rupture, capsular contracture, and implant rippling remains.

Silicone implants are the most popular implants with a smooth or nanotextured surface to decrease the risk of capsular contracture and ALCL.
