PDO Threads Treatment

PDO Threads, or Polydioxanone threads, are a minimally-invasive facial rejuvenation treatment. This cosmetic procedure can reduce signs of aging around the eyes, brows, neck and jaw.

MINT mono threads are medical-grade threads composed of dissolving suture material. These face threads can tighten sagging skin in the facial area as well as smooth the skin. Results from a PDO Mono Thread treatment are most noticeable after 8-12 weeks and last up to 1 year.

Benefits of PDO Threads

1. Smoother Skin, Fewer Wrinkles

This threading procedure is effective in smoothing the skin, which can create the appearance of a slight lift. It’s most commonly done around the eyes, brows, neck and jawline.

PDO threads create a small amount of trauma to the skin. This stimulates collagen and elastin production and thickens epidermis cells. As a result, this can reduce fine lines and wrinkles on the face.

2. Tightens Sagging Skin

Mono PDO threads tighten sagging skin in the facial area. Persistent pulling on the skin by PDO threading tightens the skin. It also can reduce wrinkle depth and stimulate collagen production for smoother skin.

3. Non-Invasive, Little Downtime

Threads are a non-invasive injectable treatment that requires no general anesthesia. It has very little downtime or time needed for recovery. There is also little pain associated with a PDO thread treatment.

What Can Mono Threads Treat?

Mono threads can rejuvenate under the eyes, around the brows, the jaw, under the chin and the neck. Skin tightening can be achieved in the following areas:

Tear Troughs

PDO threads can improve under-eye bags, dark circles and undereye wrinkles.

Droopy Eyebrows

By placing a PDO thread under the eyebrow, the brows can appear tighter and slightly lifted.

Neck Sagging

A PDO thread can create a smooth neckline by tightening the skin and reducing neck wrinkles.

Jowls

The jawline – PDO threads can reduce sagging of the lower face (jowls) by firming the skin. Threads in this area can also help improve jaw definition.

Am I a Good Candidate?

You are a good candidate if you are seeking a rejuvenated appearance. This treatment can achieve a smoother skin texture, fewer wrinkles and tightened skin.

Anyone seeking facial rejuvenation is an ideal candidate for PDO threads. This treatment is safe for most patients. It’s not suitable if you have a medical condition that prevents absorption of the threads.

What to Expect

You will need to attend a complimentary consultation before undergoing face threads. In this consultation, you’ll share your aesthetic goals for the treatment. This will allow Nurse Kim or Nurse Laura to develop a personalised treatment plan specific to you.

Once the consultation is complete, you will have your photos taken. These are confidential for our RN to assess your progress.

Before your threads treatment, a numbing agent will be applied. It’ll take about 15 minutes for the numbing agent to work, then your treatment will begin.

During the procedure, your nurse will place the MINT Mono Threads under your skin. It’s not uncommon for you to feel a slight pulling sensation as the thread pulls on the existing structures in the skin.

Once your treatment is complete, you’ll receive your aftercare instructions. Our nurses will also book you a complimentary follow-up appointment.
